I don't do high-tech, which so often goes wrong within weeks…
I don’t do wordy ‘book on a wall’…..
....and I definitely don't do dumbing-down, because I believe it’s insulting to treat adult visitors like kids, and kids like idiots.
BUT I can provide straightforward yet imaginative visitor interpretation for your historic site.
I’ve produced exhibitions and displays at over 30 historic places in England, Wales, Scotland and Belgium.
FOR EXAMPLE
At Llanidloes Old Market Hall, Powys, the only surviving timber-framed market hall in Wales, I created 'A Celebration of Timber Framed Buildings'. This multi-media exhibition included tactile samples of timber-framing and infill types, and a recreated Elizabethan wall painting.
At Walraversijde Medieval Village, near Ostend, Belgium, I complemented recreated interiors with an exhibition, 'Ostend, the New Troy', commemorating the Siege of Ostend in 1601-4, a famous event in European history. This was a 'minimum words' display, using logos; cartoons including life-sized cut-outs; facial-imaging the skull of an Ostend defender and videos showing weapons of the period in use.
At Nantclwyd House, Ruthin, Denbighshire, I commissioned a model made up of removable colour-coded blocks to explain and clarify the very complicated building history of the house.
At Oxwich Castle, Glamorgan, I helped visitors to understand the ruins with 'peopled' recreation cutaways superimposed on photographs.
...and of course we can also provide period dress-up costumes for visitors and site staff.
